Social Bookmarking in the Classroom

I have become a huge fan of social bookmarking in just a matter of a few weeks, so I could only imagine if I had this amazing tool during middle and high school. I think sharing sites with others is a great way to benefit both the publisher and the user. The classroom social bookmarking is a great idea to not only help keep sites that the publisher and user both find useful. It allows you to orginze them by category so you won't have to search for a specific one. It is a safe and growing tool that will keep growing and become more helpful to upcoming students. I think teachers and students both will benefit from bookmarking simple because you can bookmarking any site!

Pros and Cons of Blogging in Education

Blogging is becoming very popular over the past several years. There are many people who find blogging a way to express their feelings, lives, and a sense of personal knowledge to share with others. Blogging has its positive and negative attributes just like everything else. The positives are that blogging is a quick and fun way to inform others about what is taking place at the time or just to share new websites some teachers may post homework material, simple review questions, and up coming events in the classroom. It also is a non expensive way to communicate with others. As for blogging in education I think it is a great way to share with other teachers and students the new events, projects, experience and information. This is a way that others can comment about the published blogs and can share other items that go along with the blog. The negative side would be it is not monitored and anything that is published could get in the wrong hands and have a negative effect on the person who published it. I would say most blogs are a journal type post but some are informative and could share false facts. I feel overall that blogging is a great way to share with others the new and exciting things that are going on in life and in education.
